A Celebration of Black History Month

Each year at The Varnett Public School we take great pride in celebrating the legacy of our African American history. Preparation for this event began in January and escalates with a special program on February 23rd.

A gallery of African American History, artifacts and cultural items are on display in the main building. The reason for the celebration is for all of us to remember where we came from, how far we have come and where we want to go. We encourage all our students to go after their dreams and not be discouraged by bumps that we perceived to be in our way.

A gallery of student projects are on  display for viewing and we encourage all of you to drop and see how well our students have done. To culminate the events of the month, the students - along with several outside acts - will entertain us for our black history program.

Come on out and share this wonderful occasion with us. The lessons taught will stay with our students for a lifetime.
