Students take advantage of book fairs, campus libraries

Thanks to those who have participated in our book  fairs.

The Scholastic Book Fair has been a great inspiration used to improve reading skills. The book fair has helped our libraries with decorating materials and picture books for kindergarten students during story time.

The campus librarians also get a chance to pull books from the carts for all ages before the books are returned to Scholastic. We can use our Scholastic dollars to shop at the warehouse here in Houston. We have bought Smart Boards, small laminating machines , digital cameras, globes, reference materials, DVD players and language arts materials to assist teachers in their classrooms.

All materials that we purchase in the library contribute to the education of the children at The Varnett Public School. So encourage your child to participate in purchasing educational materials from the Scholastic Book Fair located on line at www.scholastic.com/bookfairs
