Students at The Varnett School Southwest entertained special guests this morning: their dads.
Breakfast with Dads is an annual event when fathers visit classrooms and share an early meal with their children. The cafeteria staff served them a breakfast bar, turkey links, fruit and milk. The families also had a chance to pose in a photo booth together with all kinds of props.
The fun activity is one of several this year to promote parental engagement.
This Saturday, the campus will host a Parent Empowerment Conference from 8 a.m. to noon. It is designed to show how parents can become a central part of their children's education.
