Two honored for their work at Southwest Campus

The Southwest  "Staff Member of the Month" is Ms. Meghan Lede!  Ms. Lede is a proud graduate of Willowridge High School, class of 2008. She is also a proud Varnett graduate who attended Varnett from pre-k through fifth grade.

Ms. Lede has worked for Varnett for the last eight years and says she has "loved every minute of it!” She loves coming to work, not because she is paid to, but because she loves kids.

The Southwest "Teacher of the Month"  is Ms. Benita Howard!  Ms. Howard is originally from Riceboro, Ga., a town with a population of 809. She lived in Riceboro for most of her life and moved to Killeen, Texas in 2006 to complete her senior year in high school.

Ms. Howard attended Prairie View A & M University for two years before transferring to Sam Houston State University, where she graduated with her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Ms. Howard has six brothers and sisters and 16 nieces and nephews. She has one son, Santana, who is two years old, and was recently engaged to be married.

Congratulations, Ms. Howard!!!
