Varnett's Southwest cheerleaders competed in the Ultimate Blast Cheer and Dance individual cheer competition on Saturday, April 13 at Francis Scott Key Middle School.
Ultimate Blast Cheer Dance specializes in organizing cheer and dance events to promote teams around the Houston area.
The Eaglettes had four individuals to compete against several cheerleaders and they all won medals. Aleyjah Evans won 1st place in Crowd Leader. She had to perform a cheer, jumps, tumbling and motions. Kaiyah Lewis won 1st place in Cheer. She had to perform a cheer to the crowd. Jayla Brown won 3rd place in the best jump category. She had to perform three different jumps. And Zada Blanton won 3rd place in the best tumbling category. She had to do a series of jumps.
