Farm animal project; Career Awareness Day keep students busy

At Varnett, it's not all about studying for tests.

Kindergarten students at the Southwest Campus created their favorite farm animals out of household materials and put them on display this week.

And on Friday, Oct. 15, they will see the real thing. Students in the classrooms of Ms. Magin, Ms. Payne and Ms. Smith will take a trip to Dewberry Farm in Brookshire and see their farm animal project come to life.

"They are so creative," said Ms. Magin, as the students showed their excitement during a picture-taking session Thursday.

In addition to the farm project, students also did some multi-tasking as they showed their teachers and fellow classmates what they want to be when they grow up.

They dressed the part in preparation for pursuing their chosen career.
