Daddy Daughter Dance at Southwest

Daddy's Little Girl was on display Friday at the Southwest campus cafeteria as about 65 dads and male guardians joined their daughters in a touching event right before Valentine's Day.

Billed as the second annual Daddy Daughter Dance, fathers and their girls had dinner, painted hearts, participated in raffles for Lego blocks, took pictures and, of course, danced.

"We wanted to give the dads an opportunity to share quality time with their daughters in our school setting," said Dr. Pamella Thomas, the campus parent liaison.

The flyer advertising the event, titled Daddy's Little Girl, started with the words, "I've only been your little girl for just a little while, I can't speak the words 'I Love You" so I say them with my smile."

"It was wonderful," Dr. Thomas said of the two-hour event. In preparing for the dance, "the team was phenomenal."
