Ms. Yolanda Walker was selected as the Southwest Champion of the Week for going above and beyond for her students and team members this past week.
The third-grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher organized a Saturday brunch for the Southwest staff, attended a lesson planning lab after school, provided students with quality instruction throughout the week, and stayed after hours to ensure that students went home safely.
She also organized our Culture and Climate activities that encouraged teachers to engage with one another beyond the classroom.
