Two members of the Southwest chess team attended a beginner's tournament recently at Presbyterian School near the Medical Center.
Jacob Miles, a sixth-grader, earned 1.5 points out of four games and received an honorable mention. Jacob's younger brother, Roland Hunter, a second-grader, attended but did not participate.
Coach Richard Burton said other tournaments are coming soon.
