Saturday's Carnival activities culminated with the drawing for the Houston Texans basket. Excitement filled the air as parents, students and staff gathered at 5 p.m., wondering if this was their lucky day.
But unfortunately there could only be one winner and we all shared in the excitement for Marquiz Nelson, a 4th grade student in Ms. Jones class. Marquiz was unaware that his mother had purchase the lucky ticket for him so he was very excited to find out on Monday that he was the winner of the Texans basket, ,filled with souvenirs and merchandise with the football team's brand.
The basket and its contents had an estimated value of $500.00 and the cost of the raffle ticket was $5.00. That's not a bad return on investment. Congratulations, Marquiz.
