Students marked Valentine’s Day with a party and a fundraiser Thursday.
The cafeteria was packed full of energy as students danced to the musical selections of the DJ, Mr. Rhone. Those who participated put a little money down to raise funds for a scheduled 5th grade trip to Washington, D.C. later this year.
Food was served and some parents joined staff in watching the students have fun.
In May of last year, 32 fifth-graders traveled to Washington and toured the White House and the home of abolitionist leader Frederick Douglass. They also visited the Martin Luther King National Memorial, the Smithsonian Institution and George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate, Museum & Gardens.
