The Southwest Campus was honored to host an adult communitywide health fair March 7. Our objective was to highlight the importance of being healthy through mind, body and education.
It was through presentations by local health professionals that parents were educated in a facet of ways to enrich their lifestyles. We also had fresh fruit and vegetables to promote a healthy diet.
This was our first, but not last, adult health fair. We anticipate the return of our professionals for our “Cinco de Mayo” event on Friday, May 3. We were delighted to offer the following services to our community:
*Blood pressure check - Diabetes Information/ Walgreens
*Medicaid Information - Applications/ Molina Healthcare
*Mental Health/ Mental Health Mental Retardation Center
*AIDS - HIV Information - Testing & Results on site/ AIDS Foundation Houston
*Colon Cancer - Hope Through Grace
