Ms. Jones and Ms. Chaney recently were elected Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year, respectively, for the Southwest Campus.
The honorees were named based on a vote of their peers. Ms. Jones, who teaches second grade, has been at Varnett for two years and a teacher for eight years. Ms. Chaney has been a Varnett employee for seven years.
Both are candidates for district Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year, respectively.
