Organizations such as the Centre for Fathering and Dads for Life contend that the father-child relationship is a significant factor in the emotional and cognitive development of a child. Combine that belief with the assertion that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you have a potent combination.
Yesterday, Varnett's Southwest Campus held its annual "Breakfast with Dad" function and it was a huge success! More than 300 dads, grandpas, papas, and abuelos came out to spend some quality time with their children. Kids and dads enjoyed a light breakfast of sausage and biscuits, then had some fun taking free pictures in a photo booth provided by Houston Flashy Photo Booth. We are glad to have the support of so many of our fathers.
Several staff members said Thursday's "Breakfast with Dad" event broke a record for attendance. The breakfast was part of an ongoing strategy by Varnett to promote family activities at school.
Thank you for supporting your children and for being part of the Varnett family.
