Honors for Ms. Lulu Moore-Johnson and Mr. Giovanni R. Campudoni

Ms. Lulu Moore-Johnson and Mr. Giovanni R. Campudoni have been named Teacher of the Month and Employee of the Month, respectively, at the Southwest campus.

Ms. Moore-Johnson teaches third-grade English, language arts, reading and social studies. She is a native Houstonian who received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and her Master's in Education from Texas Southern University. Her favorite quote is "When people show you who they are, believe them." Ms. Moore-Johnson has truly shown us who she is! She is so focused on actively teaching her students that she doesn't even have a teacher desk in her classroom.

She claims to not dance well but is constantly on her feet working in small groups or one-on-one with students. So she may not cut a rug at a party, but she is running ruts in our carpet, pushing our students to greatness. We are grateful to have her on our team. Congratulations Ms. Johnson!

Mr. Campudoni is an English as a Second Language instructional aide. He is a native of Puerto Rico and speaks both English and Spanish.

His degree is in Graphic Arts and he loves helping people. This shows in his work across campus. He is ready and willing to help in any way, from working with individual students, to moving boxes from room to room.

He also has a degree in Culinary Arts and cooks at home every day. He's already promised several staff members a taste of his culinary creations. He is a kung-fu instructor who likes to have fun and it shows in his energetic work with our students.

We are so glad to have Mr. Campudoni on our team this year. Congratulations Mr. Campudoni.

Ms. Ni'Cole Mukes, Southwest Campus director
