Mrs. LaShonda Murphy and Ms. LaQuita White have been named Teacher of the Month and Employee of the Month, respectively, for January.
Mrs. Murphy hails from the University of Houston-Downtown where she received her BA in Education. She is married with one daughter who is the sparkle of her eye.
Mrs. Murphy loves to read and can read upside down and backward. Believe it or not, she has more than 2,000 books at home! Her favorite vegetable is broccoli and she loves every song Michael Jackson ever made.
The third-grade teacher works hard every day to ensure each of her students is successful. This is her first year at Varnett but we hope she stays forever! Congratulations, Mrs. Murphy.
Ms. White has been with The Varnett Public School for nine years. A graduate of Dulles High School in Sugar Land, Ms. White believes that all children are capable of learning. That is exactly why she is here.
We are thankful for Ms. White and the love she displays for our students. She goes above and beyond and is willing to fill any shoes that need filling. Congratulations Ms. White!
