I hope that this open letter finds you and your family in the best of health and strength. During these uncharted times, it is my sincerest recommendation that family and health are placed at the forefront of all decisions that each of us has to make. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us that even though we are separated, together we are stronger than ever.
We at The Varnett Public School have incorporated technology into our advanced curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our student body. This unforeseen circumstance has also provided all stakeholders with first-hand experience into curriculum design, the various learning modalities of our scholars, and more importantly, the value of communication. A healthy blend of the aforementioned components, with a sprinkle of togetherness, will lead us into a successful return to the campus.
As the adage goes: you never know what you have until it’s gone. This holds true today. Our teachers, staff members and administration miss OUR students more than anyone can imagine. We desire that each of you log onto Google Classroom (if applicable) daily, communicate with your teachers during the live sessions, utilize the homework hotline, and try your best to master the skills that you are being taught. We will do our best to ensure that all concepts are presented meaningfully and in a manner that supports your learning modalities.
In closing, thank you for making Varnett your learning institution of choice. As a cohesive unit, we are striving to achieve excellence daily. Rest assured that assistance is always a phone call, email, text message, or Classdojo message away. Thank you for your unwavering support during this time. We look forward to opening up our classroom doors to our scholars shortly.
Mr. Jesse Arps, M.ED.
