A New Chapter of Leadership Begins at Southwest

The Varnett Public School is proud to officially welcome Mrs. Amesha Forward as the new Campus Director of The Varnett Southwest Campus, effective July 1, 2026.

If you've been on campus recently, you've likely already had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Forward. Over the past several weeks, she has enthusiastically immersed herself in the Varnett community, participating in campus activities, collaborating with our Social Studies Department during the implementation of the new civics curriculum, and welcoming new teachers during summer onboarding. Her commitment to building relationships and learning alongside our staff has already made a positive impression across the Southwest Campus and amongst district leaders.

Mrs. Forward brings more than 16 years of experience in education and instructional leadership. Throughout her distinguished career, she has served as a Math Teacher, District Math Specialist, Dean of Instruction, Assistant Principal, and Dean of Student Support Services. Her diverse leadership experiences have cultivated a strong passion for instructional excellence, student achievement, positive school culture, and leadership development.

Her academic accomplishments reflect her commitment to lifelong learning. Mrs. Forward earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from McNeese State University and a Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in Mathematics Instruction from the University of Arizona Global Campus. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education, Leadership, and Organization at Texas Woman's University.

Mrs. Forward's leadership philosophy is centered on three powerful words:

Her vision for The Varnett Southwest Campus is to cultivate a learning environment where students feel safe, supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed academically and personally.
